Steel Detailer

We are looking for individuals who are interested in growing within our team as a Steel Detailer.  As a Steel Detailer for Goodman Steel Ltd. you will report to the Project Engineer, being responsible for all shop detailing while working alongside the Project Managers and Estimators. The Detailer will provide the shop with shop drawings, cut sheets, and provide the inputs for our PythonX beam line and plasma table.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Review and interpret drawings from contractors, and clients
• Use Inventor & AutoCAD to develop layout, drawings, and designs that meet project expectations and specifications.
• Proper file maintenance on all assigned projects
• Occasional site visits for field measurements
• Nest part files on ProNest Software
• Provide nc1 files to PythonX Beam Line using CMS
• Provide cut sheets/BOMS to fabrication and machine shop
• Prepare drawing packages for customers or subcontractors as needed.

To be seriously considered for this position you will need the following:

• Post-secondary education would be an asset.
• Previous work experience in a detailing role working with mechanical and structural metals.
• Proficiency in Inventor & AutoCAD software is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft 360.
• High level of knowledge of industry standards detailing practices.
