About the Roll
Goodman Steel Ltd. is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mobile heavy-duty and manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency. You will troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul, and perform general maintenance tasks in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance on fabrication shop equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues as needed.
- Build and assemble machines and mechanical components according to specifications.
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them promptly.
- Maintain machinery, equipment, trucks, and power systems.
- Work in all environments, both indoors and outdoors.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Strong diagnostic skills and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of OH&S and safe work practices.
- Adaptability and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of related experience.
- Red Seal or Journeyman Heavy Duty or Millwright equivalent experience.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (air brakes, Class 3 or 1 is a plus).
- Mobile equipment experience preferred.
